Friday Night Anime Block: Infinite Ryvius

<begin>

Well now, we’ve done great deal of Cyberpunk near-future dystopia, a bit of Steampunk dystopia, as well as some general insanity. Let’s try a bit of far-future dystopia, shall we? Set inAD 2225 we have Infinite Ryvius.A tale of a colonized universe wherein the principles of nature have yet to be fully understood and one lone ship (full of pilot training cadets, there was obviously a demographic here) is set adrift from their government, their authorities, and their homes.

Now, your first instinct is most likely to ask ‘What then, would qualify this as dystopian?’

I suppose the answer there would be the politics of what occurs on this isolated ship populated by military teenagers without the respite of any functioning authority. Dystopia in a bubble if you will.

A couple teasers more:

Humanity is frequently at its worst when isolated and under pressure. These are the qualities that give rise to a society based in unhappiness. And also potential.
