Heath Ledger Dies at 28
Actor Heath Ledger, 28, who is most famous for his role in Brokeback Mountain was found dead in his SoHo apartment today at 3:30pm. His untimely death comes as an apparent sleeping pill overdose. However, he had been sick with pneumonia for the last week. The police are treating his death like a crime scene because the actual cause of death has not been determined. There will be an autopsy.
Heath Ledger was in the middle of filming a Terry Gilliam film called, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus due out in 2009. He was also slated to star as the Joker in the next installment of the Batman movies. What a sad loss of a talented man.
UPDATE: The autopsy was deemed inconclusive. The only sure evidence is that his death was by a drug overdose. According to NYC police he was found in his bed, unclothed and a bottle of sleeping pills next to him. He leaves behind a 2 year old daughter with actress Michelle Williams.

Either I am paying more attention in the last couple of years or it’s always been the case that all the greats and potential greats seem to be slipping away from us. I think my overall feeling with this was that death can happen when nothing else does.
