Propaganda and Politics

I can even describe how this poster makes me feel. On one hand I admire the work and acknowledge it’s effect on my psyche, on the other hand it frightens me. Shepard Fairey has been making amazing posters for years. In the past they have had more of a pseudo-political feel. They might have been political in nature, but not this type of straight forward promotion. This type of imagery is very strong and in the wrong hands devastating. I can’t help but equate this type of imagery with evil dictators. I don’t see this as the case, but wow, it still sets me hair on end. Powerful stuff. I’m glad he has something he believes in.
I believe with great conviction that Barack Obama should be the next President. I have been paying close attention to him since the Democratic convention in 2004. I feel that he is more a statesman than a politician. He was against the war when it was an unpopular position (and Hillary was for the war at that time), Obama is for energy and environmental conservation. He is for healthcare reform. Check him out for yourself www.barackobama.com.

Just wanted to make it known that I am supporting Hillary Clinton for president. I think it’s great that people are supporting him. Bottom line I want a president that can get things done. Obama reminds me of Carter, one of the nicest presidents we have ever had, but when it came down to playing hardball he couldn’t. This is my opinion.
I have yet to decide who I am supporting for President. I am still in the process of examining the potentials that seem to be emerging quite quickly these days.
What would you say your main bases is for supporting Hillary? Don’t get me wrong, I like the Clinton team but worry about some of her ideas on the important topics. I know that the D-party is taking the whole “we need a change” to the bank but I am alarmed with Clinton’s ideas of removing power from the people. At least that is how she has been characterized but this could be slightly skewed by malign.
I try to take the race with a pillar of salt and reflect on the candidates past judgments and implementations as representation of how they might lead our country. I try to focuse on their last 8 years of work. I believe that people tend to behave as they truly feel when they think no one is watching.
