India is, to my knowledge, the first country to ever have an officially recognised “Zombie Party”, the Mritak Sangh. In the State of Uttar Pradesh estimates indicate that over 40,000 people have been declared legally, if inaccurately, deceased. Generally this seems to be an economic ploy so that their relatives can rightfully take possesion of their worldly belongings, but these “living dead” have united in protest of the political system that allows this to occur.
